We will learn to write simple and good story , its about story telling .
written story is not enough because we are designers , we show by drawing and showing in the story board .

important to know reference related to your idea

- lighting
- costume
- principle shooting
Post production : editing stage
- offline editing
- online editing
- audio editing
We have three projects
project 1 is audio editing exercise (3 audio editing exercises)
- Exercise 1: Sound dubbing
- Exercise 2: Sound Shaping
- Exercise 3: Sound Design
Project 2 Visual Effects video shooting software require:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
TASK 1: Video Editing Exercise
- Install Premiere pro, Audition, After effect
- Download footage provided by Mr Martin , and to create new primer pro project
- Import footage into Premiere Pro

Week 2 (1/9/2021) - Shooting Exercise Framing & Story board
During this week we have learned about types of shots.
We learned about Camera shots which are :
- Low Angle Wide Shot
- Frontal Medium Close Up Shot
- Frontal Medium Shot
- Extreme Close Up Shot
- Side Angle Medium Shot
- Close Up Shot
- Eye-Level Medium Wide Shot
- ¾ Angling MCU Shot
Mr Martin Gave us 2 tasks in this week, Shooting exercise task :
For this exercise, we are required to practice framing of what we have learnt in lecture. We were to take short videos of the different types of shots, each 5 second. Then, we would need to assemble the videos together and add captions. These are the shots we are supposed to do:
The MAIN objective is practise GOOD COMPOSITION by shooting below videos:
- Low Angle Wide Shot
- Frontal Medium Close Up Shot
- Frontal Medium Shot
- Extreme Close Up Shot
- Side Angle Medium Shot
- Close Up Shot
- Eye-Level Medium Wide Shot
- ¾ Angling MCU Shot
TASK 2 : (A) Shooting Exercise

TASK 2 : (B) Editing Exercise
On the second exercise, we were assigned to watch a video and study the storyboard that is given. Then, we were also given a folder of video clips. We had to make proper cuts from video clips and combine it all following the storyboard.
Week 3 (8/9/2021) - Storytelling in Film
The module consist of a narrative which is a story or tale is any account of a series of related events or experiences, whether nonfictional or fictional.
The last thing , Lastly, "Plot Segmentation" is introduced. It means each scene should be described briefly in a separate line.
Week 4 (8/9/2021) - Storytelling in Film Part B
3-Acts-Structure
1. Setup:
- The World in which the protagonist exists prior to the journey .
- Setup ends with conflict being revealed.
2. Rising Tension
- The series of obstacles the protagonist must overcome .
- Each obstacle is usually more difficult and with higher stakes than the previous one .
3. Conflict
- The point of highest tension.
- Major decisive turning point for the protagonist.
4. Resolution
- What happens after the conflict is over.
- Conflict's concluision
- Protagonist finally overcomes the problem.
BEGINNING/SETUP:
To introduce the world.
To introduce the main characters.
To establish the dramatic situation.
Leads to an incident that complicates the story (PLOT POINT 1).
Act 2
MIDDLE/CONFRONTATION:
Known as ‘Rising Action’.
To develop obstacles / complications.
Leads to climax of the story (PLOT POINT 2).
Act 3
END/RESOLUTION:
Ending of climax
Answer to all obstacles / problems
Tying the loose ends
Plot 1: The Plot Thickens
Here is where the first incident happen, turning the story in a new direction, set up where act two is going, raises the stakes, reminder of narrative enigma, presents the possibility of a different outcome.
Plot 2: The Longest Mile
The climactic turning point, main character reaches critical climax, possible polution present, biggest cliffhange, plot change, will the protagonist win or lose? Conflicts climaxes, issues becomes worst, and the increasing of worse is the rising action.
Sound Design in Cinema
The mixing of sound elements creates an audio setting that supports the action and engages the spectators, involves three elements which are speech, sound effects, and music.
Speech can be a dialogue: conversation characters in movie or voice overs: voice of unseen narrator speaking
Sound Effects is the ambience involving the background or "hard" or "cut" effects; audio refers to the background noise present at a given scene or a location; almost everything that is not the dialogue and music is sound effect
Music enhances the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact
Dubbing automated dialog replacement ADR, the process of re-recording dialogue after the filming process to improve audio quality or reflect dialogue changes.
This week's Lecture was a brief explaining on how to further expand our plot segmentation for Project 2, Mr. Martin explained how we are suppose to come out with a shot-list and a digital storyboard, where think had to think about what types of shots and angles we wanted to use for Project 2.
TASK 3: Shooting Exercise (3)
In this week exercise, we have to record ourselves dancing and edit it. We have to form a group with 3 people and editing the style dependent on the rhythm of the music. Besides that, we also need to record it in 7 different shots.
The 7 different shots are:
- Wide Shot - high angle (You, Solo)
- 3 Single Full Body Shots - eye level (You at the middle)
- Medium Shot - eye level (You, Solo)
- Medium Close-Up Shot - eye level (You, Solo)
- Close-Up Shot - eye level (You, Solo)
- Extreme Close-Up Shot - eye level (You, Solo)
- Wide Shot - low angle (You, Solo)
REFLECTIONS
This was my first week in VSP , Mr Martin super friendly I always felt free to ask any questions to Mr Martin during the course of the lesson.we learned about the different types of framing in videography and cinematography. we learned about the framing in much more detail.
we learned about the importance of sound and the different types of sound As without sound, it becomes sometimes impossible to understand what is going on in a movie or even anything sound attracts the attention a lot .
After studying sound I realised that sound effects in the movies not from the background , its always imported and edited .
