Task 3: Positioning & Identity

To find the inspiration I needed for the applications of my brand, I searched through several references on Pinterest. To have a better understanding of how other designers had approached the challenge in the past, I decided to base the designs of my collaterals and environment more closely on those utilized in existing jewelry stores.

So then I started to proceed with my first trial of work.

Then the next class I got feedback from Ms Lilian according to my work saying;
Letterhead: Must have 2 versions
- one with the letter inside
- one without the letter inside
- do one more mockup empty one to show the design without the letter
- for the address why are the pin and address away from each other it needs to be closer to other company information because it seems single item itself
put the location beside the rest of the info 5 info together maybe minimize the numbers or remove the fax and replace it with the location making it 199 Maadi, Cairo, Egypt.
either shift it closer pin icon beside the text so it seems consistent because it seems its additional information
Phone number, location, mail put Egyptian number shorter
- for the mail on letterhead remove the M capital make it small and remove the gap between mariam and the jewelry

maybe do another color variation of the letterhead.

Task 3 - Positioning & Identity : ( Positioning Slides )

Specific Feedback: Do credit your sources. A breaking down of your brand value into bit-size information will help present the ideas better. Demonstrates a weak understanding of logo clear space in that no discernable component has been used to indicate cleared area around the logo. Similarly, logo space rationalization is only an underlining grid that is not connected or measurable. Best to indicate logo minimum sizes using cm unit as there is also potential for print use (stationery, collaterals, and environmental graphics). Visual references should not be the FA but other references found that approximate the ideas for how the brand identity will be applied. More sensitivity to the type needed for the corporate stationery applications (business name card, envelope company information, etc.) while the black invoice is impractical for usage (one cannot print over black unless, of course, the idea is to print out the negative space on a yellow/gold background for this application. Hanging store signs may be less suited to the nature of business but still acceptable. Room for improvement in the placement of the brand logo in the poster mocked for environmental graphics.

REFLECTIONS

Experience

The Brand story seems to have led me astray a little bit because I wrote too much about my brand. After all, I felt the need to explain further, but I don't think it's the ideal solution to write bulkier like that. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. The adaptability and high quality of Mariam Jewellery would be preferable features to highlight, rather than the hit-or-miss nature of the items themselves. My surroundings, it was difficult for me because my brand is a jewelry and elegance company, and that means it shouldn't be everywhere. However, finding the appropriate mockup for my brand was extremely difficult, so I did the best I could with what I had.
This assignment was so hectic for me cause I got lost a lot many times, Also sometimes the mockup was not working well and also I do not have a lot of time to do things freely I worked around 30 hours to come up with those outcomes.

Observation

I was able to learn how to further maintain consistency within the appearance and feel of my brand thanks to the genius of Pinterest, which allowed me to study diverse techniques. These strategies taught me how to further keep consistency within my brand. It is a teacher without words, yet it is a powerful one that guided my thoughts on the proper path.
despite facing unexpected health challenges. In this blog post, I reflect on this observation and share my thoughts on the journey. Unfortunately, I encountered health problems in the previous couple of weeks, which undoubtedly affected my work. I admit that, had it not been for these unforeseen circumstances, I might have produced even better results. Nevertheless, I am grateful that I managed to complete all my tasks within a very short timeframe. Despite the challenges, I persevered and gave my best effort.
I might say that, in terms of my brand, I am currently about 70% satisfied with it. Although there is always space for improvement, I was unable to do everything I had planned because of time constraints. Nevertheless, given the circumstances, it's critical to recognize the advancements made and to take pride in what has been accomplished.
This journey is even more remarkable because I faced a dangerous disease that could potentially lead to dire consequences. Moreover, I was separated from my family during this challenging time. Despite these adversities, I take pride in the work I have done. It may not be perfect, but I managed to accomplish something great despite being admitted to the hospital. This experience has reinforced my resilience and determination to pursue my goals.
I've learned a lot from this observation about upholding brand consistency and overcoming obstacles. My thoughts were guided by Pinterest and Ms Lilian's course she really guided me a lot and she got my back in my hard times not only as my Lecturer but also as a Mum, she also gave me the inspiration to improve the visual appeal of my brand. I'm proud of the progress I made despite health setbacks and other obstacles. In the future, I'll keep developing and getting better while celebrating every success, no matter how small or large, and keeping in mind the value of perseverance.

Findings

I discovered that the brand's overall aesthetic significantly impacts its identity.
My understanding and approach were profoundly affected by a remarkable discovery I made during developing my brand.  I explored various methods and resources, assisting me in maintaining consistency in the look and feel of my brand. I found that Pinterest can shape my thoughts, ignite my creativity, and point me in the right direction even in the absence of words. In addition to strengthening my brand, this discovery has increased my appreciation for the wealth of information and inspiration that can be discovered in unexpected places.
Ms. Lilian is a standout speaker when it comes to effective instructors that inspire and encourage their students. Her enthusiasm for the subject and commitment to fostering her pupils' development is absolutely admirable. Ms. Lilian has a special talent for creating a dynamic, interesting learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Her teaching methods go beyond the conventional, incorporating real-world examples and practical applications that bring the subject matter to life.
Ms. Lilian is distinguished for her continuous support and encouragement. She recognizes each student's potential and goes above and beyond to ensure their success. Her personable demeanor and readiness to provide assistance and comments have aided my personal and professional development. Ms. Lilian's ability to deliver constructive feedback while inspiring confidence in me has enabled me to push limits and push myself to new heights.
I am glad for the opportunity to study under her tutelage, and I am convinced that her influence will continue to positively touch the lives of many students who have the honor of being her mentees.

The research paper included subjects like the fundamentals of brand identification, which was a wonderful review of what had been covered in the lectures. I DISCOVERED FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT THIS WORK when I proceeded to their subtopic #5, Brand rules.  I picked quite some knowledge, notably on the outlook of the website.

They kept reminding me to use the brand's colors and typefaces and to make sure that everything was consistent, which was helpful because as I kept reading these reminders, I kept asking myself while I was designing if my work had a consistent look throughout the many designs (which can be hard for me). However, it proved useful as I had to stop and ask myself questions constantly. I wouldn't be happy until I could convince myself, "Yes, this is the way I want to go."

I've gained some ideas and learned how to get started on my own thanks to this website, which contains a variety of brand instructional archives. This website provided me with several various brand guide references, which were really helpful to me as I created my own.
