REFLECTION

Experience

Finally I'm here right now !!, To be honest I couldn't believe that I did it , Im not even believing that I'm here submitting the last things.

After spending days without sleep to finish submissions , now Im writing this and I didn't slept for 2 days to refine my work and to make sure I submitted everything ,

Here's my Experience in Advanced typography , Despite it was my scariest subject from first semester till now 14 weeks + 14 weeks = 28 WEEKS OMGGG !!

28 WEEKS OF FEAR xD , Despite that I can say that finally towards the end of this semester I really liked typography BUT it's really very tough subject and I lost around 5 KGS Because this subject because of fear and stress! But I really really gained a tons on knowledge throughout this module , I don't know why Im writing this reflection with tears in my eyes ? Maybe because I couldn't believe that I did it ! , Also I will not see Mr Vinod Again ..

Typography made me concentrate in the tiny details not only inside the designs but also in real life

After taking this module really things changed 360 degree, This semester is one of the super stressing semesters but I really glad that I learned all of this things .

Some of the exercises in Advanced typography more interesting than the Typography but of course heavier !, To be honest at the begging of the semester 1 , I really felt that I hate typography and when I found I had advanced typography I started to cry hahahah, but im now here near the end and I want to say that now my love for this subject and Mr Vinod is way more than the tears hahahah , Im now happy and satisfied with every and each work I did also Im proud of myself !

Observation

I really observed that typography around us everywhere , and learming typography is really something obligatory I knew a lot of new things like the flow of typography , How the font can grab the attention , How you can send a message only through fonts !

We have learned also that there's specific fonts for specific things like for example in this case this font will be used to express the message better , During the exercise that we have to come up with letterforms from nature or textures or anything around us , I realised that almost everything around us you can extract a typeface from it .

Also I need to mention that sometimes despite receiving a harsh feedback about my work

like 'its not good enough' 'doesn't work' etc.. , without those comments I swear that I wouldn't be here now writing this observation , what I want to say that beside its harsh but it push you forward to grow the baby designer inside you , because I was so stressed cause I feel that I couldn't come up with what needed till now ! I'm late , all of that helped me to finish and to be fully satisfied about my work .

Harsh truth always better than good lie , Its hard to accept that cause I seek perfection in everything , Even Mr Martin told me that Miss Perfectionism which means its hard for me to accept that im not doing well , but its really okay I learned that no need foe everything to be perfect no one will always do well .

Im glad that I took this module <3

Finding

The most important thing I found its sarcastic not only baby designer is growing but also a good writer as well xD , I learned to write observations and feedbacks and that skill wasn't available before ahahah, I want to say that I found that Im really in love with designing typefaces Manual , I realised that Im having a skill in writing I like to shape the typography manual and I found this when one day I was doing the further reading task and I read an article called ' Hand-drawn typography designs' This catches my eyes to read the whole article , And I think it will be better if this module changed to manual instead of using illustrator and so on if it was like that definitely I will achieve AA+ not only A+.

One finding as well , That typography one of the things that really made the life way easier , So for example if Mr. Vinod while marking and reading this finding im writing now , if the text hard to read or not comfortable for the eyes reading my finding will be difficult so what I want to say that without typography and existence of nice typefaces reading would be difficult to all people.

Here in Egypt the hand writing of the person reveals 90% of his personality , for example id someone his hand writing is so bad this means a lot of things and vice versa .

Wow I found another finding that it seems that I'm philosopher as well !,

To sum up , I discovered the importance of Typography after finally 28 weeks and lastly I found out that I give more attention to have a look at the typography around me.
